Salary

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, pharmacy technicians at all levels of experience earned an average wage of $14.63 an hour and an average annual salary of $30,430 per year. The lowest-paid 25 percent of pharmacy techs, which encompasses most entry-level techs, earned $11.69 or less per hour and $24,320 or less per year.

Employment Outlook

Employment of Pharmacy Technicians is expected to increase by 32 percent from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Educational Programs

This study course presents a logical understanding of the language of medicine introducing building and utilizing a medical vocabulary through the use of prefixes, suffixes, word roots, and combining forms/vowels. Emphasis is placed on correct spelling, pronunciation, and knowing the correct definitions of many medical terms:
